Production was always exclusive. Embraer delivered just 28 aircraft in total, with deliveries peaking at five per year in 2009 and 2010 and tapering to a single aircraft in 2017. That rarity has made the Lineage 1000 something of a collector's aircraft in the ultra-large segment.
The Lineage 1000E Upgrade
In October 2013, Embraer introduced the Lineage 1000E ("Enhanced"). Essentially the same airframe, the 1000E added updated avionics, latest-generation in-flight entertainment, refined interior options, and — most importantly — roughly 200 additional nautical miles of range, bringing maximum range to 4,600 nautical miles. The 1000E carried a list price of approximately $53 million when new, dropping to about $49.9 million by 2019 — a fraction of the $71.4 million Boeing BBJ1 or the $87 million Airbus ACJ319 it competed against.

Two features stand out operationally. First, the 7,000-foot cabin altitude at the aircraft's 41,000-foot ceiling reduces passenger fatigue on long sectors — the lowest in its class at the time. Operating Costs and Market Position
Because it shares its airframe, engines, and systems with thousands of E-Jet airliners in commercial service, the Lineage 1000 benefits from an airliner-grade global support network and parts availability. Industry estimates place direct operating costs at roughly $5,100 to $5,800 per flight hour — approximately $1,000 per hour less than competing bizliners from Boeing and Airbus.
The trade-off is runway performance and access. At 120,152 pounds MTOW and needing over 6,000 feet of runway, the Lineage cannot reach the smaller airports that a Gulfstream or Global can, which concentrated its market in the Middle East and Asia among charter operators and government users. Notable operators have included Royal Jet, Falcon Aviation Services, Al Jaber Aviation, Air Hamburg, and AirX Charter, while the Brazilian Air Force flies two as secondary presidential transports and the Pakistan Navy ordered ten converted airframes — dubbed "Sea Sultan" — for maritime patrol.
